Finseer ("we," "our," or "us") is a personal finance app that helps you track expenses by reading your bank statements. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using Finseer, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the app.
Information We Collect
PDF bank statements — When you upload a PDF, it is sent to our AI processing service (Anthropic Claude) solely to extract transaction data. The PDF is not stored on our servers after processing.
Extracted transaction data — Dates, amounts, descriptions, and categories extracted from your statements are stored locally on your device using SQLite. This data never leaves your device except as described below.
Subscription information — If you subscribe to Finseer Pro, payment is handled by RevenueCat and the App Store or Google Play. We do not collect or store your payment details.
Anonymous usage data — We may collect anonymised, aggregated usage analytics (e.g. crash reports, feature usage counts) to improve the app. This data cannot be linked back to you.
How We Use Your Information
- To extract and categorise transactions from uploaded PDFs
- To display your spending history and insights within the app
- To manage your subscription status via RevenueCat
- To improve app stability and performance via anonymised analytics
We do not use your financial data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the Finseer service to you.
Third-Party Services
Finseer uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Anthropic Claude — AI service used to extract transactions from PDFs. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat — Subscription management. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — App distribution and payment processing.
Data Storage & Security
All transaction data is stored locally on your device. We do not maintain any database of your personal or financial information on our servers.
PDF files sent for AI processing are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and are not retained after the extraction response is returned.
You can delete all your data at any time by using the "Delete Account" option in the app's settings, or by uninstalling the app.
Data Retention
Since your data is stored locally on your device, retention is entirely in your control. We do not hold copies of your transaction data. Anonymous analytics data may be retained for up to 12 months.
Children's Privacy
Finseer is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. Since your financial data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times.
